After a week of daily core work, this sphinx pose is a well deserved counter stretch for the abdominals. Day 8 of #mermaidyogis is a gentle heart opener that can be held for about a minute, breathing deeply the entire time.
Sphinx Pose:
- From high plank, lower all the way down to the floor.
- Bring elbows under shoulders and spread fingers wide, forearms resting on the earth.
- Inhale, draw heart forward and shoulders back, keeping neck long and neutral.
- Breathe deeply, holding for five to ten breaths
- Release to child’s pose.
